• "The JSPS-INS International Spring School on New Frontiers in Nuclear Physics" was held at Shimoda and Tokyo from March 8 through 19, 1993. The spring school, the first of its series, was sponsored by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and the Institute for Nuclear Study, University of Tokyo. The aim of the school was to stimulate young Asian physicists toward frontiers of todays nuclear physics under free and informal atmoshere. The lectures at the schoolo covered a wide range of subjects in nuclear physics; nucleon structure, heavy ion physics, high-spin states, symmetries, astrophysics with nuclei, and exotic atoms and nuclei. The school under these subjects was quite timely since the Institute for Nuclear Study has been strongly promoting "Japanese Hadron Facilities", in which nuclear physics is expected to play an important role.
