Explore

In LIBRIS you can find information on books, journals, printed music, dissertations, maps etc. held by:

• all Swedish university libraries
• most Swedish research libraries
• a few public libraries

How does LIBRIS work? LIBRIS Quick Guide will help you to get started.

• 

  Enter your search terms in a search form. The simple search entry will follow you throughout your work flow.

• 

  Refine your result set if your search returns to many hits.

• 

  Check if the book is available at your library or in full text.

• Explore a subject

  • Enter your search in the simple search entry (free-text search resulting in most hits)
  • Navigate in a tree structure (subject browsing)
  • Use the list of subjects Index A-Ö
  • Start from the title information
  • Check if there are subdatabases that cover your subject

• Explore the production of an author

  • The simple search entry (returns items both about and bya person)
  • Only works written by a person? Go to Advanced search or write förf:(Astrid Lindgren) for example
  • You can refine the result set by limiting it to a certain author
  • Search items by the author from the title information page of a record

• Explore the content of a book

  Information for relevance assessment can be obtained through:

  • Cover pictures
  • Table of contents, summaries and reviews from the title information page
  • Subject headings in the title information page
  • Use the "Search outside LIBRIS" link for further information, for example in Google Book Search
